A large, one-of-a-kind, hand-painted wax canvas tote bag created in collaboration with my partner, fine artist Neale Marriott. Neale is a renowned specialist in abstract fine art, and this project represents a true labour of love, where we come together to blend our creative talents and produce unique, wearable pieces of art.
Having made accessories for the V&A shop in London for many years, these bags are thoughtfully crafted from waste canvas leftover from the backpacks I have designed for them. The large, deep-filled tote bags feature a distinctive collage created by us and highlight carefully sewn sections using upcycled fabric waste, fully embracing the important principles of reuse and recycling.
The tote also includes sustainably produced Italian vegetable-tanned leather handles, which develop and increase their natural character and beauty over time.
Every bag is individually design numbered and features a convenient inner pocket, adding practical functionality to its artistic appeal.
Fully lined in 100% black cotton twill.
It is a natural characteristic of the canvas that there are subtle creases present, which occur due to the wax finishing and the recycled elements used in its creation.
